Experienced Counsel For Complex Probate Matters
Moving forward after a loved one passes on is a challenging experience. Facing the struggle of Louisiana’s complicated probate laws and administering an estate can make the grieving process unbearable.
For more than 25 years, Douglas C. Dominick, Attorney at Law, has provided the trusted and knowledgeable advice individuals in Caddo Parish need to navigate through the probate process. I am a lawyer who focuses on providing compassionate and understanding advice to help you through this difficult time.
Whether you need assistance transferring titles, distributing assets or settling unpaid debts, I will take the necessary steps to help you move through probate at a price that fits your family’s budget.
Testate Versus Intestate Estates
If someone dies with a will in Louisiana, they have died testate. In these circumstances, I work with families to probate the will and to file the necessary documents to ensure the deceased’s wishes are fulfilled.
However, if someone dies without a will, they have died intestate. In these instances, the court will distribute the estate in accordance with Louisiana’s probate laws. I will ensure that this process occurs and take the necessary steps to resolve it in as timely a manner as possible.
Distributing assets in an intestate estate can be hard. I will work closely with the executor to accurately value all assets and ensure all parties receive the inheritance they are entitled to under the law.
When you consider how complex probate can be and how emotionally charged this time is for many people, contentious disputes can often arise during this process. Whether it is a contested will or trust, breach of fiduciary duty or undue influence, I have the extensive litigation experience needed to help you resolve the dispute in a successful manner.
